Post Praise and Prayer Requests here! This will help us know how to pray for one another better, plus it is always nice to hear each others praise to God for the great things He does in our life :)
For the past few days, I have been getting an error every time I try to read/post any comments on chapter 2. Sad face. So I can't see what you girls wrote, OR post my own.
It goes right hand-in-hand with what we read about, especially towards the end where he gives tips to being a happier worker. :-) I especially enjoy his tip to thank a member of your social network for something they have done every day. I'd like to thank all of you girls for being awesome :-).
1. Praise that boy got a job interview for a job that he really wants this week, and I have a job interview tomorrow and another next week (for jobs that I don't really want, but who knows what will end up working out). 2. Prayer that I can deal with the prospect of being far away from boy...his job interview is with a company that is in Los Angeles (and he really really wants this job...like since he was little). My job interviews are for companies that are in Texas and Massachusetts. That God takes that situation into his own hands, letting me be content with whatever happens and wherever I may end up as far as location. ...I might be super stressing out with this right now, if you can't tell. 3. Prayer for my daddy, who had to have surgery on his eyes twice in the past few months. He's had a retina that likes to detach. No fun. 4. It's super duper windy outside my apartment right now. Pray that nobody gets hurt from falling trees, power outages, etc. 5. Pray that I can finish a thesis sometime soon/eventually. 6. Praise for wonderfully nice weather earlier today.
Praying for you Molly! Believe that God has the details of your life figured out. I know that if you and "boy" are meant to be together, God, will work everything out. How is your Daddy doing? Also praying for your thesis... that God would help you to finish strong. :)
Haha, I guess I should stop referring to him as "boy" :-). We've had a lot of good conversations/prayer about this recently, so God is working in that situation.
Daddy is doing well! He started to drive again last week...he was super excited about it when I talked to him on the phone. And he has a doctor's appointment sometime next week, where they will (hopefully) approve of him going back to work. I think he's been quite bored at home alone most of the time for almost a whole month - so pray that he can go to work again soon.
Prayer for the end of my first student teaching placement. I have to write and teach 3 different lesson plans every day and I have a night class and now I have paperwork that has to be completed to evaluate my experience so far. Prayer that I stay focused and can juggle it all.
Praise for God's strength getting me through my first placement! I have truly grown to love teaching my 12th graders and I will miss them!
Praise for Keith:) He is such a blessing and I pray that I never take our relationship for granted.
Praise for the success of this Bible study blog and for the followship here! I am so thankful for you ladies! Prayer that this continues to be a success and that God keeps guiding us and teaching us.
Praying for you Libby! Praying that God would give you strength and a clarity of mind to write and teach your lessons. That God would help you to get everything done and still have time to take for yourself. Praise to God for the gifts He has given to you and His helping you to fulfill them. Praise be to God for the relationship with a great guy that he has blessed you with. Prayer for purity and good communication in this relationship.
I love prayer requests and will certainly be praying for you all!!! 1.Please pray for my husand, Aaron, who is trying to move up the ladder at work, he has so much passion for what he does and so deserves what he wants:) Pray that God gives him confidence and strength. 2.Prayer for my mom (Sharon) and step-dad (Russ) who found out yesterday that they are moving to PA from NC and need to be there within the next month. 3.Prayer for me as I juggle school and work (which I not so much loving lately!!!) Praise God for all of my blog friends, for all of the blessings He gives me and for making me who I am today:)
Have you ever read the book, "The power of a praying wife," Salysa? I have not read it but mentors in my life have recommended it to me and it is on my list of books to read, hopefully sooner than later. I was just curious, I know that you are very busy with work and school.
Thank you, God, for Salysa and my new relationship with her. Thank you for her desire to see her husband have confidence to move up in his role at work. I pray that Aaron would find favor with his bosses and that they would see the passion and effort he puts into his work. I pray that you would figure out all of the details of moving for Sharon. I know how stressful it can be to move in a short amount of time yet, I know that you are in control. I pray Lord, that you would give Salysa the strength in all of the roles that you have given her. Help her to trust you.
Aeriale, How is your friend? I pray, God, that your hand would be with Aeriale in her current job and her job search. I pray that you would be with Aeriale at work and help her to impact people that she comes into contact with. I know how discouraging the job search can be... I pray that you would give her the strength to keep pressing on. I pray that you would give Aeriale a well deserved raise at the Cracker Barrel. Thank you so much for the new addition to Aerial's life and praise that the car is driving well!
I thank you, God, so much for Michelle and for her friendship. I know Lord that you have been with this family who had a sister die suddenly. Lord, please work in this situation and draw family members close to you in this time of grieving. Thank you Lord that Michelle will be a Aunt in a few short weeks. We pray for your hand to be upon the remainder of the pregnancy. I also ask you Lord that your hand would be with Charlie and Aimee and help them to get better soon so that they can be reunited with Elliana. I ask you Lord that you would draw Michelle closer to you and that she would grow to become more of the amazing woman that you created her to be.
Hello Ladies - an update on my friend Travis' condition. Last Thursday, he had two seizures and before they reached the hospital, his heart stopped twice and he's been in an induced coma ever since. They believe he has a heart defect that caused the seizures, but because of all the trauma and lack of oxygen, they don't know if he has all/any brain function. They were going to perform heart surgery tomorrow (Monday), but today his brain started to swell and his pupils are dilated, which is a sign of little brain function. Please, please pray for my friend. We just started hanging out in December, but he means a lot to me. He jumpstarted my writing and editing passions. He is also a Christian.
I've been to the hospital twice, and tomorrow, I'm going to bring a book and some of my writing and read to him. I whole-heartedly believe in Godly miracles and Travis needs one right now. Thank you so much for your prayers, friends :)
Heavenly father, I ask for you to take complete control over Travis's body. May your hand guide the doctors who are caring for him. Please be with family and friends and help them to trust that you are in control of the uncontrollable. Thank you for Travis's relationship with you, God almighty, and Aeriale. May Aerial's presence be a comfort to all who are near her. Praise you our God.
Aerial, I keep on thinking about you and your friend Travis. I keep on picturing you sitting by his bedside in the hospital reading a book. I'm praying today that God will give you strength and that the words you speak would make on impact on Travis's condition. This is a beautiful picture of your heart. Keep up the good work, lady, God is with you!
Thank you so much! Travis is looking a bit better, not so pale. He apparently caught Pneumonia sometime yesterday, but they are treating it! The swelling in his brain went down, thank the Lord. Slowly but surely, over the course of this next week, they want to bring him out of the medically-induced coma and wake him up to start the surgery and see about his brain function. Thank you ladies for all of your prayers! His mom is so grateful for all of the support she's getting, and I continue to tell her everyday that new people are praying.
Jenna, I made it to the hospital today to see him, but his grandparents were there to visit and I couldn't quite read to him...but I left the book by his bedside and told him I would be back tomorrow. And the next day. And the next day. Maybe we'll have finished an entire book and when he wakes up, he can mark it off of his list! :D Keep praying, Jenna! Thank you so much.
I am praying for all of you. So sorry I didn't update the blog yesterday for chapter 4. I will try to get to it tomorrow. I just got back from school and am heading off to my night class.
Hey girls! I wanted to share with you all a video that was made in memorial of the Japan earthquake. I think we definitely need to remember to pray for the victims of that tragedy that happened a year ago. I'm sure there is still a lot of damage and brokenness that is being felt throughout the country. I also just felt like this was an awesome song to remind us that we are God's children and we are truly special and have great roles to fulfill that God has blessed us with.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXbtKfhHp_8
Also, this video was made by one of the casts of the Young Americans - a group of young people from around the world dedicating their time to the performing arts. They travel around to different schools and locations all around the world spreading music to children and they are truly changing lives. They also had a cast in Japan last year at the time of the tragedy. Keep their mission and safety in your prayers!
Thanks for sharing Michelle! It was great to see the group that Krista is with doing such amazing work. You are absolutely right, we need to remember to continue to pray for the Japanese earthquake victims.
Please pray for Andy because he needs to decide whether or not he will stay in the military by this summer. It is going to be a major life decision for us... please pray for wisdom.
Pray for my brothers (Josh and wife Nikki, Austin, Spencer, Colin and Marshall)... they all are struggling with their own individual things but most of all I want them all to follow Jesus and look to Him to heal their pain... not something else.
Please pray for contentment for me in my current job and for my ongoing pursuit for a professional job in my field.
Pray that God would be able to use Andy and I to make an impact in peoples lives for God's glory no matter where we are.
I am praying for you and Andy and that you can hear God's voice clearly as He guides you both with this major decision. Sometimes we have so many voices crying out for our attention and it is hard to hear God's voice. I pray that you both can hear His call and live out His plan for you.
I also pray that you find fulfillment in the things that God has put in your path, especially with your job situation. Jenna, you are such a strong woman! God really is using you for something important, even if it doesn't feel like it. Our hope for our futures is a confession of our faith and trust in God. Cling to this. God is great and wants great things for you. Be patient with Him and watch as His glorious plan for you is revealed!
Well...tomorrow is my last day at my first student teaching placement. I can't believe it, it went so fast! Praise God for this experience and for giving me the strength and wisdom to teach my students. I will miss them!
Pray that I can have a positive experience at my next placement and that God will give me the strength to juggle everything and grant me His peace to keep me from worrying and stressing. I pray He will allow me to impact my students and be a good leader and role model for them.
Praise for the beautiful weather! The sunshine is amazing and so uplifting. Praise too for all of you wonderful women of God :)
Hello everyone! First of all I just want to apologize for not posting anything yet. I've been busy (but that's a terrible excuse because I know every else is too!). I am praying for you all though and have been reading your comments. Your thoughts on the book have been very encouraging to me.
Work has been very stressful for me lately as I am learning several new things and have a lot to juggle. My brother and I are also writing a book and trying to raise some money for editing through a website called kickstarter. I tend to stress out easily, so please pray for God to help me remain calm and confident and above all trust in Him and his plan for my life.
I also want to praise God for the beautiful weather and that I do have a job. I really truly am blessed!
I'm praying for all you girls and thinking of you often!
Please pray for my family. My cousin Bob passed away this weekend of a heart attack. He was only in his 40s. He left behind a wife and 3 daughters. The oldest daughter is my age and the youngest is still in high school. Please ask God to comfort them and to answer their questions. Ask God to help them to grieve and to heal their hearts. Bob was a wonderful guy and he is undoubtedly in heaven right now. Even though it is hard for them, I hope his wife and kids can praise God for their time with him and for the everything he taught them.
Please pray for my sister-in-law, Steph. She is going to be having a baby sometime this week! They plan on inducing her by Thursday if she doesn't go naturally, but just pray that her and the baby have a safe delivery and for both of their health!
For the past few days, I have been getting an error every time I try to read/post any comments on chapter 2. Sad face. So I can't see what you girls wrote, OR post my own.
