"Calm" Final Comments

Post your final  comments about our book here.  You may want to think about what chapter spoke to you the most, what you took away from the book overall, or what passage was your favorite.

Also, I would appreciate any comments on what you liked about the experience, or what I could have done better :)

Get Back in the Game!

Ok, I don't know about you, but I am ready to stop being complacent and get back in the game!  I know that summer is a super busy time for everybody, but no more excuses.  I want us to finish the Linda Dillow book and post final comments by July.

I also want to take Jenna's suggestion and have us all write and post our mission statements.  Don't take this task lightly.  Pray about it.  Talk to God and ask him to reveal this to you.  Listen to the Holy Spirit.  When you are ready, post your mission statement for all of us to see and ask God to help you follow it.

I have been praying and have come up with a new project for us.  I will have it all worked out by July, but I sort of want to keep it a secret for now:)  I will need your full commitment with this!  I know that we are all strong in our faith, but I want us to be stronger.  I want us to grow closer to God through His word and through our relationship with each other.  I want us to be the disciples that God calls us to be.  I want the passion inside our hearts to radiate outwards and show other people what a relationship with Jesus can be like. "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven." Matthew 7:21.

I don't want us to be perfect Christians, a contradictory concept in itself, but i do want us to push ourselves beyond our comfort zones and see the great things God can work through us.  "Jesus replied, 'Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, "Go, throw yourself into the sea," and it will be done.  If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matthew 21:21-22

So, you have two things to accomplish
1. Finish the Linda Dillow book and post your final comments
2. Write and post your mission statement

I love you all very much and keep you all in my prayers.  Get ready for July and our new project!  Even though you don't know yet what we are doing, I will take any suggestions you have for the blog.

XOXO Libby

Catching Up

Hello Ladies!  I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten you.  I really want us to finish up this book and then decide what we want to do next.  Maybe we could take a break from reading other books for a while and just make a commitment to read the Bible and challenge each other to do some "good deeds" in the name of Jesus throughout the week and then share out experiences.  I certainly want us to get in the habit of checking the blog weekly again.

Be diligent in your walk with Jesus.

XOXO

Prayer and Praise

Here is a new place to post prayer and praise requests.  I want us to continue to pray for one another and become better Prayer Warriors!

"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.  With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.  Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains.  Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should."  Ephesians 6:18-20

Chapter 8: Worry is Like a Rocking Chair

Chapter eight's title is very interesting.  Have you ever heard this before?  By the end of the chapter, I'm sure Linda will explain it.  I come from a family of worriers.  Worrying is in my blood!  But I have learned to accept God's Peace and stop worrying.  I still find worry trying to overtake me, but instead of buying into it, I turn to God.

Praise God for his Awesome Peace!

Chapter 7: A Faulty Focus

We are already half way through our book!  Being able to chat with you girls through this blog and share my thoughts and feelings with you has been amazing!  I love that we can grow as women of God together.

"There could never be a more beautiful you; Don't buy the lies disguises, and hoops they make you jump through;  You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do; There could never be a more beautiful you."

I praise God for my beautiful friends :)

Chapter 6: Never Enough

My Apologies for not posting this section sooner.  We can have an extra week to catch up on the reading and posting.  I will change the schedule a little bit :)
How great is the title of this chapter?!  I am excited to read it because I know that I sometimes ask God for more instead of seeing everything that he has put in front of me.  I also think I can apply this to relationships with other people.  Sometimes, we demand alot out of the people that are the closest to us.  I pray that God speaks to each of us through this chapter in our book, that He helps us be thankful for our portion, and that we are able to grow and better live our lives as women of God.

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Chapter 4, Content with my Role

We are already into chapter 4 of our book.  I think this chapter will be particularly significant to us because we are all in school, have recently graduated from school, are searching for a job, are thinking of moving away from home, live far away from our families, or any number of these.  Thankfully, God has a unique plan for each of us and a specific role to fill.  Pray that we can each discover the role God has mapped out for us and that we don't become discouraged as we wait for God to work in us.

"For I know the plans I have for you.  Plans to prosper you and not to harm you.  Plans to give you hope and a future."  Jeremiah 29:11

Keep posting prayer requests and praying for each other.  I can feel God doing great things here.

Praise and Prayer Requests

Post Praise and Prayer Requests here!  This will help us know how to pray for one another better, plus it is always nice to hear each others praise to God for the great things He does in our life :)

Chapter 3, Content to Be Me

We are now into chapter three of our book and I am so thankful for our fellowship :)  I am finding this book so helpful, and from everyone's comments, I think all of you are too!

I feel that this next chapter will be a challenge for me, since it is difficult to look at yourself and recognize your flaws without wanting to immediately stop and focus on something else.  However, it is so important to find contentment in ourselves and remember that the Holy Spirit lives in each and every one of us and that we are beautiful and perfectly formed in the eyes of God.

Chapter 2, Content with Circumstances

Very interesting and helpful comments for Ch 1!  You girls always amaze me with your faith.  Let's keep praying for each other that we find contentment in our lives, and specifically for this week, in our circumstances.  Happy reading :)

Introduction

Hi all!  So I may have done this a bit backwards, but I would like you all to "introduce" yourselves here.  Some of you don't know each other, so it would be good to share things like where you currently live (you'll learn that we are pretty spread out across the country, so cool!), where you went to college and what your major was/is, what you are doing now (job, school, etc), things you like to do for fun, and anything else you want to add.  You are all very interesting women, so don't be afraid to share! :)

I hope you are all enjoying the book and figuring out how to post comments on the blog.  Call, text, or email me anytime with questions!

Welcome!

Hello Ladies!  To start, I am so thankful that all of you have agreed to participate.  I am so blessed to know each of you.  My hope is that this blog becomes somewhat of a refuge.  I pray that this is a place for each of us to grow closer to God and even to each other.  This is a safe place to share our thoughts and beliefs, hopes and fears, triumphs and struggles.  Even when we can't provide all the answers, we can direct each other to the One who can.

The reading schedule is posted on the right hand side of the page.  Each week, answer the questions in the back of the book that correspond with each chapter.  I like to write in my book so that I can organize  my thoughts and be more concise with my responses.  Choose one or two questions that particularly stand out to you and post your thoughts.  If you don't like any of the questions for the week, just post something that you found meaningful.  You may not even want to write your own post, you could just respond to someone else's for the week.  If you don't feel like writing a post, then don't.  I don't want this to feel like school or work in any way.  Have fun with it and be yourself.

You are always in my prayers!
XO Libby
