Hi all! So I may have done this a bit backwards, but I would like you all to "introduce" yourselves here. Some of you don't know each other, so it would be good to share things like where you currently live (you'll learn that we are pretty spread out across the country, so cool!), where you went to college and what your major was/is, what you are doing now (job, school, etc), things you like to do for fun, and anything else you want to add. You are all very interesting women, so don't be afraid to share! :)
I hope you are all enjoying the book and figuring out how to post comments on the blog. Call, text, or email me anytime with questions!
Libby
My name is Libby Pascuzzi :) I graduated from Penn State Behrend last May with a degree in English lit. Now I am a graduate student at Edinboro getting my teaching certification and my Master's of secondary education. I am currently student teaching at Northwestern in Albion, PA. I have about 100 12th graders and I am really enjoying every one of them! They are great kids, or should I say young adults :)
ReplyDeleteIn my spare time (what little I have right now) I like to spend time with Keith, read books, be outside, go for a jog when its warm, and anything else that keeps me active and busy. I like to sew and do anything where I am making something, like making earrings, or a scarf, or even baking. I like to challenge myself and try new things, and have a hard time giving up when I am challenged.
Overall, I know that I am very blessed:)
Hi!
DeleteI'm Molly Eberly. I graduated from Penn State Behrend in 2010 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Since then, I have been a graduate student at Penn State University Park still studying mechanical engineering. I live in State College, PA. I do lots of research with a wind tunnel, and try not to fail my classes. I will be done with classes in May, and will(hopefully) graduate when I finish my master's thesis, which should be sometime this summer (August? Who knows...).
When I'm not studying or at the lab, I take some ballet classes, salsa dancing lessons, ride my bike and play ultimate frisbee (when it's not too cold). I also recently got rather involved with my church, and my boyfriend and I babysit lots of kids each week while their parents (the married couples in our church) have a Bible study. I'm also currently looking for jobs for when I graduate. Life's been busy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I am super excited about this study :-). Needing to be less anxious is a common trend in my life...hehe.
My name is Jenna. I was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. I graduated from Penn State Erie with dual BS degrees in international business and marketing. I am a military wife and am currently enjoying almost every aspect that military life has to offer. My amazing husband, Andy, and I are stationed in Bremerton, Washington, near Seattle.
ReplyDeleteThe things that bring me the most joy in my day to day activities are... spending time with Andy, working out by doing things like running, swimming, soccer and yoga, cooking yummy things and having a clean house. I also enjoy walks along the beach, hikes in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and the occasional kayak and ski trip.
I am super excited about this group and am looking forward to getting to know each of you better.
Hello girlies/ladies,
ReplyDeleteI am Ellie, born and raised in the Czech Republic. I came to the U.S. when I was 17 as an exchange student and I stayed. I went to Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way, WA. Then I went to Penn State Erie, The Behrend College in Erie, PA. This is where I met everyone (Libby, Molly, Jenna, Aeriale, Michelle, and all other fine ladies and men). Now I study economics (labor and health economics to be exact) at Emory University in Atlanta, GA (hence the Southern accent, ya'll :P ). I have tried fried okra and southern sweet tea.
As of now, I am rather overly involved at school, that is, in my research and classes. Graduate school is challenging and I am getting through only by God's grace. I still have 3.5 more years to go. I was blessed with a wonderful church family here and also many Christian graduate students and the fact that my boyfriend has moved to Atlanta. I love hiking, skiing, biking, running, swimming, and also baking anything, cooking new meals, sunshine, Farmers' markets and dogs. I hope to teach economics one day or just to get a plain simple job after having spent 21 years of my life educating myself ;)
I am pumped for this book! I think my heart really needs to be more optimistic!
<3 Ellie
I'm Michelle! I graduated from Penn State Behrend back in December of 2010 with a Business Management degree and a minor in marketing. Since then I have been living at home seeking employment. I took on a part-time position as a substitute secretary at the local school district and have been very blessed with the opportunity, however sometimes somewhat weirded out working in my former schools. I also am doing some side work for a local business that I worked for throughout high school doing some marketing projects to expand my experience in that field.
ReplyDeleteIn my abundant spare time (and that's not a joke), I read, spend time with family and friends, take pictures, travel, organize things (haha), watch movies, and Photoshop(: I also am attempting to learn Italian and have really grown to enjoy working out. I spend a lot of time playing piano and guitar as well as singing, and am trying to get myself back into the violin. Baseball season is also right around the corner and I'm looking forward to that(: I am also going to be an aunt here in the significantly near future (less than two months!) and am excited to chill with the kid and then give it back to my brother ha.
I'm so thankful to have you girls (back) in my life to walk through this journey and seek contentment in our lives and with God(:
Hellllllo, ladies!
ReplyDeleteI'm Aeriale! I graduated from PSB this past May with my BFA in Creative Writing. Seeing as how this degree means nothing to the outside world, I am working at good ol' Cracker Barrel to earn money for my continuous writing and reading habits. I am ever-searching for jobs in my field and miss school profusely.
In my spare time, I work on my novel. It's a work of fiction that will incorporate many of my travel experiences :) I have also found a kindred spirit whose name is Travis. We get together weekly and critique each other's writing and talk about books for three hours straight. It's bliss, seeing as how Cracker Barrel deprives me of having any real intellectual conversations. I'm not hostile or anything.
I have a cat named Gatsby who is basically my best friend. He's fiesty and talkative and we like to discuss deep things, like which book I should read next and whether or not I should clean out his litterbox now or tomorrow. Yes, deep indeed.
I am very excited for this blog. Needless to say, I miss you all very much.
I also cut all of my hair off recently, and now can do the Justin Bieber flip with my bangs. It's so freeing.
DeleteAw man. I've never been able to do the justin bieber flip. It sounds like the most freeing thing ever!
DeleteLiving in the world of books and data - What is the Justin Bieber flip? And how short does your hair need to be to do one?
DeleteHello girlies! I'm Salysa:) My wonderful husband and I are currently living in Charlotte, NC! Such a wonderful place... Lots of fun things to do here. I'm currently attending a community college right here in Charlotte, studying physical therapy. I am also working part-time at a coffee shop!
ReplyDeleteIn my spare time I love to hang out with my husband. He makes anything fun! We LOVE to cook together!!! We love to be outside... running, hiking, swimming. We love spending time with my mama (who may be moving to PA next month!) My younger sister lives an hour away from us, so we like to go visit her if we EVER get a day off together.
I'm really excited about this blog... I've never been part of one before!
Welcome Salysa! You sound like a fascinating woman. :) It sounds like you enjoy doing many of the things my husband and I enjoy doing... cooking and outside activities are definitely what we do together the most. I am glad for this opportunity to get to know you better!
